What Is Cured Resin? A Guide to Our Extraction Process

The Difference Starts at the Source

Most vape cartridges on the market are filled with distillate — a heavily refined oil stripped of everything that makes cannabis unique. The terpenes, the minor cannabinoids, the strain-specific character. Then synthetic or reintroduced terpenes are added back to create a uniform flavor.

That’s not what we do.

What Is Cured Resin?

Cured resin starts with whole cannabis flower that has been slow-dried and cold-cured after harvest. This traditional curing process preserves the plant’s natural terpene profile while developing the depth and complexity of flavor that fast-drying methods destroy.

After curing, we extract the resin using a single-solvent process that keeps the terpene and cannabinoid ratios intact. No distillation. No terpene reintroduction. One ingredient: cannabis.

Why Cold Cure Matters

The slow dry and cold cure is where the flavor develops. Think of it like aging a fine spirit — the time and controlled environment allow volatile compounds to stabilize while undesirable elements break down.

Our process:

  1. Local Farms, Hand-Selected Flower — We source from small Humboldt County farms growing sun-grown, outdoor and light-dep cannabis.
  2. Slow Dry, Cold Cure — No speed-drying. The flower hangs and cures at controlled temperatures until the terpene profile reaches its peak.
  3. Craft Extraction, One Ingredient — We extract the cured flower into resin. That’s it. No distillate blending, no botanical terpenes, no additives.

Follow Your Nose

Our co-founder Nick has a saying: your nose knows before you do. The terpenes in cannabis are the same compounds that give fruits, herbs, and flowers their aromas. If you love the smell and taste of real cannabis, you’ll taste it in every pull of our cured resin carts.

The Bottom Line

Cured resin isn’t a gimmick or a marketing term. It’s a commitment to making a vape cartridge that actually represents the plant it came from. Every batch we make is something we’d smoke ourselves — that’s the only standard that matters.
